21 years

Today is our 21st wedding anniversary! I had a look through our photos and at first was embarrassed but now I just think they are funny. Pretty blue and pink eyeshadow was the go in the 80's why don't we ever look ahead and think that is going to look really stupid in 20 years time? Oh well at least we had a good day-and everyone said we wouldn't last!
The photo of Brett (top) is a family favourite. He's nearly 25 now but this is still the best and it sums up his mood for the day too.

Oz bushfire appeal shop at etsy

I joined etsy in July 2008 hoping to make enough money to be able to stay at home and not go back to work. I am on the way to achieving that goal and in the process have met some of the most amazingly creative, friendly and supportive people. I joined a team called dust(down under street team) and without them I don't think I would be where I am now. Two weeks ago, when the devastation of the Victorian bushfires started to become known, the dust team opened a special store to raise money for the victims. We all thought if we could donate items and raise about $1000 that would be a great effort and help . Now into the third week and having already donated over $13000 I think I can safely say the shop has exceeded our expectations. Donations have not only been from Australians we have had people all over the world donate the 1000 items in the store. The store will remain open until the 31st of March unless it sells out, and with only about 200 items left I'm sure it will be.
The shop was opened and is being run by the wonderful Emma from http://feliciafairy.etsy.com with help from other DUSTers especially Carley - http://vanillapixie.etsy.com Thank you all so much for making me feel proud to be part of such a wonderful group of crafters.

My new shop

Well I finally did it!! I opened my second etsy shop and I called it lace and luxuries. I took me ages to think of a name as I wanted something to tie it to lace and links.
I intend selling everything but jewellery in here and as usual I jumped in with out being organised and it's taken 2 weeks for me to get 10 things listed. I should have waited until I had more but it's too late now.
I guess you can tell I love pretty-pink, lace, satin, florals are a joy to work with and to see something come out of my imagination and become real is the greatest feeling. For me to actually find someone who likes it as much as me is quite amazing.

Vintage Glider Rally

Last week we attended the Vintage Glider Rally in Bordertown S.A. Wow what a week! 10 days with nothing to do but relax. The Bordertown guys outdid themselves with their hospitality.
Michael and J.R. flew, Ben, Daniel, Amy and Nick drove around retrieving the gliders and laying the cables while Merryn and I sat in the sun and beaded.
The guys finished their week on a high with Michael winning two trophies and J.R. being presented with the books from the maker of his beloved Yellow Witch! We met so many amazing people with so many fascinating stories that I hope will be handed down and never forgotten.
God willing we will all meet again next year to share some more.

Today was nearly good

This morning I nabbed a treasury-http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=32041, found out I was in a treasury-http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=20200 and I think I am still second in the artisans challenge. Really great things until I find out the car is going to coat $3000 to fix!!! What a way to ruin your day- I can think of so much more to spend that on!! Oh well it happens. My treasury is gorgeous, I think so any way. It's all pink and pretty and well priced too.

Woo hoo!

I'm second at the moment behind a wonderful painting by Debra linker - it is amazing and don't expect to get the votes she has. I don't mind though it's exciting just being in there with such wonderful talent. Rod has an brilliant blog with heaps of spaces for free or paid advertising go and have a peek-http://artisanschallenge.blogspot.com it's worth your time.

DaWanda

I have just updated my store at DaWanda. I've been a member for a little while but hadn't done much to it. It's a great site similar to etsy - somethings are easier to navigate, some things aren't as good but it is well worth a look. There are some great items for sale, a lot of etsy sellers are already over there. Click on my avatar for a link to my store there. Thanks and have a nice day

Gifts

The beer mug is just yellow wrapped lollies with marshmallows on top. The umbrella is a square of fabric filled with lavender and tied up, a bent pipe cleaner is the handle. I glued photos to the back of glass pebbles and added decoration then glued magnets to the back.

Easy Christmas decorations and gifts for kids to make. The puddings are made from a bought fruit cake mixed with enough orange juice to make it moist enough to roll into balls, then either drizzle icing on top or cut plastic icing to shape.
I dripped clear glue on the top of the glass ball and then sprinkled micro beads over it and hung it to dry. The ornaments were made from cinnamon sticks glued or tied together.

Peek at my book

A few months ago I decided to make a book of kids craft ideas. I have finished it and it's all ready for printing with proceeds going to The 1st Millicent Scout Group. The crafts are for all ages and include gifts, bedroom decorations and games. I thought today I would give you a peek at some of the things in it. Please let me know what you think and what needs to be changed etc.

T.V. in the bathroom?

I don't have a television in my bathroom! I'm sorry to spoil your images of a bathroom set up with everything including a t.v. but I take the portable dvd player in there with me and sit it on a kitchen chair next to the bath!

Tag you're it

Hi for Tuesday. I have had a few people laugh about my old movies in the bath comment-obviously I'm the only one who has done it! It really is great. I get bored just laying there so I either read or watch a movie. Big bubbles and candles with Pretty woman playing is just pure bliss! Having a good cry in a warm, quiet bath with a sloppy movie is great therapy and I recommend it to all of you.
